No-exam life insurance

Eligibility for fast underwriting, how the process works, and what happens if your application needs traditional review.

Several carriers now use accelerated underwriting: inside age and benefit limits, they make decisions from your application, prescription records, driving history, and similar data—no medical exam needed. Some approvals are issued within hours. Every quote here notes the exam status: required, may be required, or not required.

What it changes

No exam doesn't mean no underwriting. The carrier still checks your statements, and a policy sold based on false information can be denied in its first two years. Additional questions from the carrier's records may still trigger a request for an exam, which you can accept or decline.

Who tends to qualify

Generally, applicants younger than about 60 applying for typical amounts, with no serious health conditions and no tobacco or nicotine use within the past year, qualify. If you've had a recent medical appointment with lab work, a few carriers will use those results instead of ordering a new exam.

Should an exam be needed, it's typically a 20 to 30-minute appointment with a paramedic coming to your home or workplace in the Mission Viejo area, at no charge. People with good health often get a better rate class from the exam results, so it's not always a downside.
